How to Obtain the Logistics Node Mount

The Logistics Node mount is only available until Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4 later this year. Serious PvPers can earn it faster than casual fighters.

The Logistics Node is the new Final Fantasy XIV PvP mount. Players can acquire it by participating in any form of PvP: Crystalline Conflict, Frontlines, or Rival Wings. All the mentioned modes will award Series 3 experience points whether a match is won or lost.

There is a small amount of urgency to gaining the Logistics Node, as it will no longer be a PvP Series reward once patch 6.4 releases. There is no confirmed date, but historically patches come out around five months apart - meaning players have until around June to obtain the mount. Past items like the Final Fantasy XIV Archfiend Attire are now unavailable, though Square Enix has promised it will return in the future.

PvP Ranks and Experience Points

Every PvP match type rewards various amount of PvP Series experience points. When a player reaches a certain threshold - called Malmstones - they will go up a new rank and receive around 1,000 bonus Trophy Crystals to buy Final Fantasy XIV cosmetics.

Ranks at multiples of five typically give an even better reward. The Logistics Node is specifically awarded at Series 3 rank 15. This is reached at around 43,000 total experience points. That works out to either 50 matches of Final Fantasy XIV Crystalline Conflict, 30 Frontlines victories, or a combination.

Winning PvP Matches

The previously mentioned rank advancement estimation includes some match loses. However, constant win streaks yield additional bonus experience points. This means that players that concentrate on excelling at PvP wins will gain the Logistic Node sooner than others. This is handy for Final Fantasy XIV mount collectors that want the Logistic Node sooner, and those catching up late before Series 3 ends.

First, one should be very familiar with the universal Final Fantasy XIV PvP skills. Players themselves are mostly responsible for self-healing via Recuperate. One can also reduce damage by 90% with Guard. However, when no enemies are around one can use Standard Issue Elixirs to heal after a cast time of 4.5 seconds.

Team and Objectives

In all Final Fantasy XIV PvP modes, it is key to stick with the entire party - or alliance for Frontlines - and concentrate on objectives. A team can often sneak around and steal nodes, flags, or bases when the enemy is too focused on just fighting. Additionally, kills alone do not award many victory points.

Conversely, dying during PvP is very detrimental as it takes extra time to respawn and join the battle. If a fight seems impossible to win, it is better to simply retreat using a movement or teleportation ability.

Even after gaining enough Series experience and ranks for the Logistics Node, one may want to continue with more matches of Crystalline Conflict, Frontlines, or Rival Wings. Matches have a secondary currency in Wolf Marks, which can be used to buy GARO items crossed over into Final Fantasy XIV. Higher Series ranks have even more prizes, including a unique set of caped white armor called False Monarchy.
